Yuen Woo-Ping ’in adı geçiyorsa akan sular durur… Çoğu kişi onu The Matrix üçlemesinin ve Kill Bill filmlerinin dövüş koreografı olarak tanırken, benim için kendisi gelmiş geçmiş en iyi dövüş filmi olan Iron Monkey \ Siu nin Wong Fei Hung ji: Tit Ma Lau ’nin ve ondan aşağı kalır yanı olmayan Drunken Master \ Jui kuen ’ın yönetmeni. Dövüş koreografisinde parmağının olduğu sayısız filmden bazıları ise Fearless \ Huo Yuan Jia , Kung Fu Hustle , Fist of Legend \ Jing wu ying xiong ve Once Upon a Time in China \ Fei Hung . İşte bu yüce şahsiyet 13 yıllık aradan sonra, kendine de nazire yaparcasına Gerçek Efsane \ True Legend \ Su Qi-Er ile yönetmenlik koltuğuna geri döndü. Başlıca rollerini Vincent Zhao , Gordon Liuv , Zhou Xun ve Michelle Yeoh ’un paylaştığı filmde iftira sonucu tüm servetini ve itibarını kaybeden Su Qi Er ’in hikayesi anlatılıyor. Sokaklarda yaşamaya başlayan Su Qi Er , kendini Begger (Dilenci) Su olarak bulur. İşte film de bu kişinin King of Beggers (Dilencilerin Kralı) olmaya giden yolunu izliyor olacağız. Begger Su ’da aynen Wong Fei-hung ve Fong Sai-yuk gibi dövüş sanatlarının halk kahramanlarından. Yukarıda adı geçen Drunken Master ’da dahil olmak üzere filmlerde kendisine sık sık yer buldu.
